  • Product Code: NFC RFID module PN532
  • Availability: In Stock

The PN523 Near Field Communication (NFC) reader/writer is based on the NXP PN532 chip, and is capable of reading and writing to all NFC compliant RFID tags, as well as Mifare Classic tags like the Mifare S50 based xM1. It also supports the NFC peer-to-peer standard, so two of these devices can talk to each other, or you can set up a peer session with a mobile phone. The board also has several switch-selectable I/O modes including I2C, SPI, and HSU (high-speed UART).

  • Support II2, SPI and HSU (High-Speed UART)
  • RFID reader/writer mode support
    • Mifare 1k, 4k, Ultralight, and DesFire cards
    • ISO/IEC 14443-4 cards such as CD97BX, CD light, DesFire, P5CN072 (SMX)
    • Innovision Jewel cards such as IRT5001 card
    • FeliCa cards such as RCS_860 and RCS_854
  • Plug and play, Arduino compatible
  • Built in PCB Antenna, with 5cm~7cm communication distance
  • On-board level shifter, Standard 5V TTL for I2C and UART, 3.3V TTL SPI
  • Work as RFID reader/writer
  • Work as 1443 - A card or a virtual card
  • Support NFC with Android phone
  • Small size: 43mm * 41mm * 4mm

3 basic example of this module

Read/write RFID card
As basic function, this module could read and write RFID card. Various cards could be supported

P2P communication
Two peer PN532 modules could communicate with each other

NFC with Andriod Phone
The basic communication stamp with Andriod Phone (NFC supported) is finished

  • Power Supply: DC 3.3V ~ 5V
  • I2C / UART: 3.3V ~ 24V TTL
  • SPI: 3.3V TTL with 100 ohm resistors in series. It could be connected directly to 5V interface of micro-controller such as Arduino.

The I2C and HSU shares the same pins. The definition of IIC pins is printed at front and the HSU’s is printed at the back. The HSU mode is configured as the default mode. But you could change the interface by setting the toggle switch.
